Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into an ethnically diverse family from South London. She's English but her father is Nigerian. She was raised in the south London Council Estate, and then attended The Brit School aged 14. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. She performed in various stage productions during her time at school, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then she's made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. Her popularity resulted in her being cast as Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. Madekwe played Bambi on the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe made an appearance in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. She was also on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with the thriller The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being removed from The CW. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes in the series' initial two seasons as a regular. In May 2013, the announcement was made that she would leave the show after her guest appearance on the first episode of the series' third season. From 2014 until 2016, she starred in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg in June of 2012. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked with each other on Salem and also he played a part alongside her in that show.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's brothers, who were all very athletic, played hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley couldn't walk, however she was able to dance. This led to the fact that when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's passion for dance. Ashley continued to compete throughout high school at the top levels of competitions, such as ballet, tap, Jazz and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. The top soloist at big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
